I work from home and it's no cakewalk. I find those who don't have this impression that WAHM's eat bonbons and answering the occasional email or typing a few notes. They don't believe that some days you can work from 5.30am until 1am and still not be finished because there was a rush job or you've tried to go that extra mile for a client and put yourself behind in the process.
Days off are few and far between the busier you get. Sick days are non-existent, holidays are unpaid and the only way you get anything done in my experience is to close the door to your family for at least a few hours out of the day. I don't believe in making myself accessible to family 24/7 just because I'm not in an office block. It's too distracting to have them interrupt my train of thought and have to get back on track. I'm fortunate in that my family is grown and doesn't need constant supervision. They know to interrupt me if the house is on fire, and not to if they just can't find clean socks/their favorite sweater/their CD/whatever. I'm not saying they always do it LOL but they know that's the way I'd like it to be.
I love working from home. I've always hated the commute, office politics and having to get dressed up for work. I much prefer being my own boss. The key is not to kill yourself in the process with stress or worry. Working from home will always be different from the plain old 9-5 but that's the joy of it. Remember that when you work from home and take your laptop outside on a sunny day to appreciate the freedom.

I LOVE it! I work part time outside the house so I do get to leave here and there and have steady income. I do love working in my jammies and working late at night too!

The longer you can keep on working your online business, the greater chance you have of succeeding for work at home. Next if your online business fails do not quit, keep going and learning. Many people quit after there first attempt, if you quit you will never succeed. Have you ever been in a bad relationship? After you broke up with your boyfriend or girlfriend, did you stop dating completely? Most people would answer they continued to date after their first relationship went sour. The same goes with your online business just because one online business did not workout for you, does not mean that all online businesses are bad.Lastly you will have to learn how to market your online business.
