According to this, you shouldn't. It's yourself you need to think about! quote:
No need to worry about frazzled kids cramming ballet lessons, soccer practice, Girl Scout meetings and piano recitals into their schedules come the new school year. Turns out, most kids are fine. It’s the parents, who bear the burden of shuttling kids from one activity to another and feel the pressure to see their children succeed, who might actually be the ones on overload. Article

lol , now that is funny! Ours is only 3 so I am quite anxious for activities to start, sports, school etc. I think life will much easier once he is more active. It's another two years away, but I can't wait!!!

why is it 2 years away? I had my girls in sports/activities at 18 months through the city ... dance, gymnastics, swimming, soccer ... it got us both out of the house, it got them time with kids their age, and because it was through the city, it was CHEAP! lol they were all in preschool by 3 as well.

Yep, mine was the same. He used to go to toddler gymnastics twice a week in the afternoon which was basically all soft play stuff. He LOVED that! Our local community center ran it as well and it was pennies to go for a two hour class. You might have something like that close by too. Best thing was, he'd be so tired after it because he'd been running around like a madman he'd sleep the rest of the day and the whole night through. Bliss.

There has to be some kind of activities for younger ones, Christine. Ask local playgroups or childcare centers, they would know. Swimming especially you could do yourself, could you not?
