and am going to the dentist to get my tooth sorted that I broke ages ago, remember? Well, sorted as in extraction LOL. I could have had a root canal and a crown but after he told me the root canal might not work and would need done again if it didn't, I thought noooooooo. It'll take all my courage to get me in that chair and I have no intention of going back to go through something twice. The date is Aug 11. I needed a day hubby was off and could take me because I needed transportation and am a chicken.

Sooo, now I am going to look for something I can buy OTC to calm me down before I go. Last time I embarrassed myself by crying in the chair because I was so worked up about going and he didn't do anything but look at it! I want to behave like a big girl this time LOL. Tell me how much better it is these days! Up until that visit it's been 20 years since I went because I'd had no problems until that flaming tooth broke.

good luck!  I went to the dentist for an evaluation ... and by the quote they gave me, I don't think I will be going back any time soon.

I hear ya. That was another big consideration for me too. It costs a tenth to get it extracted that it would to get the root canal and crown work done and that's not even guaranteed to work! I'd been putting the money aside to do it but the fact that it might need done again put me off the more time I've had to think about it. I don't need the fear or the expense twice over. So out with it LOL. Hubby persuaded me it's better to go now before it starts hurting and gets an abscess or something nasty like that.

Hey, I forgot to say I went and got it done on Tuesday. Actually I should have been there Monday and mixed up the dates. I think my lily livered subconscious did that. Anyway, I got squeezed in for later on the Tuesday and had it pulled. I am being 100% honest here when I say I never even knew it was out until he told me it was all over! I got three injections before he pulled it and he chatted to me in between them.

I practically skipped out the office I was so relieved LOL. Hubby said he couldn't believe it was done because he could hear me talking and laughing so much in there. I think I was mildly hysterical actually with nerves and so relieved when it was done I couldn't shut up!

I even made an appointment to go back at the end of the month for a cleaning without being asked to.  I've not had a bit of pain or anything since and it's healed up great. It didn't even bleed much. I could go in tomorrow and do it again! My only regret is I took so long to work up the guts to do it.

I know, I'm all proud of myself for not being a big baby. I'll be complaining when I got back though because he never gave me a sticker or ANYTHING for being brave!
