Has anyone tried this? I am tempted to give it a whirl, just scared my stomach won't think it's such a good idea....

Hi, my name is Carly and I’m part of the team that engages on behalf of 5-Hour Energy. When trying 5-Hour Energy for the first time, we suggest drinking half a bottle first. We recommend that individuals drink no more than two bottles of 5-Hour Energy per day, spaced several hours apart. While there is no substitute for a healthy diet and lifestyle, 5-Hour Energy provides a blend of ingredients that enable busy adults to manage their energy needs and keep up with their active lives.

It's caffeine based. See the bottom of their homepage. They break it down into the different products there themselves. quote:
Original 5-hour ENERGY® contains caffeine equivalent to a cup of the leading premium coffee. Extra Strength 5-hour ENERGY® contains caffeine equivalent to 12 ounces of the leading premium coffee. Limit caffeine products to avoid nervousness, sleeplessness and occasional rapid heartbeat. Decaf 5-hour ENERGY® contains about as much caffeine as a half cup of decaffeinated coffee. You'd get the same boost from a cup of coffee basically imho. Read the healthfacts tabs. This is the specs for the Original. quote:
RECOMMENDED USE: Drink one half (1/2) bottle for moderate energy. Drink one whole bottle for maximum energy. Do not exceed two bottles of 5-hour ENERGY® shots daily, consumed several hours apart. Use or discard any remainder within 72 hours (three days) after opening. Refrigeration not required. CAUTION: Contains caffeine comparable to a cup of the leading premium coffee. Limit caffeine products to avoid nervousness, sleeplessness, and occasional rapid heartbeat. You may experience a Niacin Flush (hot feeling, skin redness) that lasts a few minutes. This is caused by increased blood flow near the skin. Do not take if you are pregnant or nursing, or under 12 years of age. If you are taking medication and/or have a medical condition, consult your doctor before use. Phenylketonurics: Contains phenylalanine. [read more] http://www.5hourenergy.com/healthfacts.asp

I've tried it - had no issues with it, but then again, it didn't do anything for me in the way of energy either - lol

You've got more energy than the rest of us put together most of the time, always on the go.

haha! I wish!! I think it falls along the lines of ADHD ... caffeine mellows me out, helps me think straight. I have no idea what to take for MORE energy. benadryl doesn't work (doesn't make me tired or energetic). lately I am needing something - my tail is dragging

You and me both. The only thing keeps me wakes me up to where I can't sleep is my non-drowsy allergy pills LOL. But then that's only if you equate jumpier than a cat to energetic, ha!

ORIGINAL: dianerene maybe not a good thing? Oh I know it! When I'm really busy and have lots of work to get through, I just can't afford to take the other kinds that aren't non-drowst because they make me really, really sleepy. I will literally nod off at my desk in about 20 mins of taking them. They make me feel a bit queasy too which I don't like. I only take them if I know I can go right to bed for a few hours. See, I'm caught between a rock and a hard place. :)

OMG, me too fiery!!! Now that is funny! I have never heard anyone say that, I know it's not good, or healthy, but phew...now I feel better knowing I'm not the only one! And btw, my thyroid pills aren't doing a single thing to help me. I slept until 6pm yesterday.

Maybe they take a while to get into your system properly before you feel the full benefits of them? Some meds can take weeks or months. Still early days for them really. :)

when my thyroid meds are changed I have to go 6 weeks before re-testing ... but that is without a thyroid. I have heard a non working thyroid and medication is completely different.
