because regardless of how many years we get with our loved ones, when the time is up, there is always so much you wish could be said or done ... our time together is short.

my sister in law lost her father last week.  and while she and her family knew the time was near, said their peace and accepted that he needed to go, they still wish for more time with him.  there is ALWAYS the wish for more time.

Always!  You are so right.  I had a hunch there was a loss nearby though but I didn't want to pry.  That must've been very difficult, my thoughts are with you and your family.  (((hugs))))

thank you Christine.  Its really made me look at my relationship with those around me.  My sister in law has the type of relationship with her dad that I do, and I know I will be devastated when my dad goes.  but then I saw her mom at the funeral services on monday and it really hit me about my own husband.  I just can't think about it, so I have to make the best of each day.

... it's been a tough month in my house - lol!

Awww, diane I'm so sorry to hear that (((hugs)))). I apologize for not catching this earlier. How are you doing now?

I know I'll be crushed too when I lose either of my parents. We can't delay the inevitable but we can appreciate them while we have them for sure. I think I said before: my gran used to say bring me flowers now, don't put them on my grave because I won't be there. She understood the importance of living in the now and not the past or future. Thanks for the reminder.

no worries, Kay.  it turned out to only be the beginning of a very stressful month.  but I have been keeping my eye on the brighter side ... doing what I can when I can, and trying to take the rest for what it's worth.  we're not out of the hole yet, but I am sure hoping july is brighter!
