In your opinion, what would be the ideal number of children for you to have? Is it 14 like that women who recently had octuplets? Or is it a lot smaller number? hopefully.

I would like to have 3 or 4 kids.

2 boys and 1 girl or 2 boys and 2 girls.

If you already have children, how many do you have right now? How many did you want to have when you were growing up?

We have one, but he's our grandchild who lives with us.  It is exactly like having my own toddler and one is definitely enough.  I never knew how much work having a child is.  I think at nearly 40 I am too set in my ways to sacrifice any more free time, energy, money etc to have any (more).

I always thought I'd have two or three but after having major life or death complications in the birth of my son, I stopped there. It wasn't worth trying for another when I'd be taking the chance of leaving the kids without a mother next time.

I had always wanted 4 kids, 2 boys and 2 girls.  The birth of my third son foiled my plans so I stopped there.  LOL

You are JOKING!!! Sometimes I think the Universe likes to remind us it has a sense of humor. :) I bet they were cuties. :)

My Mum was the opposite. She had 3 girls and when she was in labor with her fourth, she told the doctor that if it didn't have blue ribbons on it to send it back. My dad was hoping for a boy and Mum had listened to him say that throughout her pregnancy. Luckily my newborn baby brother appeared right on cue to save the day.

There were four of us growing up and we frazzled my parents to no end. So for that reason, I only want 2.  Possibly three, but no more than that. I'd be happy with a smallish family. Currently I'm 23 and have one daughter but no plans for more kids anytime soon.

Yes, on a regular basis I babysit for three older boys and it helps me to confirm my decision.

I think babysitting sessions like that should be mandatory before you're allowed to conceive. You should have to have clocked so many hours worth, stinky diapers and all, both moms and dads, and THEN you can have a kid. I bet the world population would halve.
