We can make our child happy and at the same time teach them the basics without spending much on new toy ideas. Children can still have the same experience with some of the traditional or improvised and inexpensive play things – and safe.

What matters most is safety. I think the suggestion of a low padded stool in a playpen is an accident waiting to happen! If they're young enough to be in a playpen, they will easily fall off balance and could be hurt.
