lg10 -> Playlist.com ? (11/1/2008 2:41:49 PM)

Hi,
I want to use a play list on my site from playlist.com - I found a few themes with this enabled - can I use it on one of the other themes or NO?  If Not can I build my own website and use this option?
Thanks!

This site is great - I just want to add some music too it now - thanks![8D]

I apologize. This message was overlooked. You can copy the code for the playlist into the "Apply Global Style" section in the member area. Click member area and going to "Website Layout". Then, click "Apply Global Style"

I tried to apply playlist from playlist.com to my global style and it did not work.  Can you give any other help tips for placing that playlist on the website?

Are you receiving an error? Where you able to paste the script into the global style section?

I'm not receiving an error message.  I'm able to copy it to the global style but when it appears in my homepage.  The entire url code appears also.

We have added Playlist.com to our site, with some explanations. When you create a playlist, copy the code (E)Other websites to use at FamilyLobby If you use "Apply Global Style" the player will do a complete restart with each page change. This would be no problem if your site consists of only the Home page. But is agrivating if you have many pages. The solution we used was to paste the code to the "Whats New" section and add that section to the Home page.This will allow auto-start of the player when a visitor enters. But I had to add instructions on how to use the "Pop Out Player" if they wanted to listen to the player while going to other pages.

Has family lobby made any changes that allow music to play on the website from a playlist that will not not stop when you change pages.  There should be a simple way to do this.  I tried pasting the code from playlist.com into the global style on all pages, but it stops and restarts each time you click on a new page.

I figured it out.  Thanks.

Well, I have it playing now, but the player is right at the bottom of the screen and it will not move up.  You can just see the stop and play buttons and the very top of the box, but nothing else.  Is this the way it is supposed to show up?  Is it supposed to be showing so they could see what is playing or select songs or skip to another?

LoneET2 -> RE: Playlist.com ? (6/21/2009 9:14:04 PM)

That is the way it will show up basically. Although I believe they said that script could be added to put it into a pop-up window such as I have.So you will need someone to write the code for the pop-up window.I managed to put it in a pop-up with out using code but its a Rube Goldberg round about way of getting there, plus it does not auto-start. You have to click a link to get the process started.If interested in my method. let me know and I'll type it upYou can see it at http://familylobby.com/lonesgraphicssite/default.asp

Thanks for the offer, but I like the autostart.  I have a lot of family members that are not too familiar with all this techie stuff.  I was thinking they may not notice how to turn it off if they wanted to.  Also thought they might like to skip a song, if there was one that came on they really didn't care for if it was simple enough.  You know how it is when you are trying to satisfy all the generations.

For those hurt by the European ban on PlayList.com I have just tested the player from Flashwidgetz, and it works fine. It is very similar to PL with more options. You can transfer your entire list from PlayList.com to Flashwidgetz. And it does play in Europe. I have both players at my site for now if you want to check out. The Flashwidgetz player is not in a pop-up window at my site.

Ah err..... i should say it works fine on a custom page. I have not tried it with the embed player yet.
