I absolutely agree! once they get a job of course ;0) my sister in law works in the fashion industry and it's really heartbreaking to see these bare thin tees go for upwards of $20 when I know for a fact that they are bought for well under $5 ... sickening ... but yes, their stuff is way cute :)

This is a load of crap. Girls shouldn't have to cover themselves up completely. Showing a little bit of skin has no harm at all. In fact by forcing your child to cover themselves up you are teaching them to be ashamed of their bodies. Attracting attention (not huge amounts) can be great as it can boost confident levels. Stop being such prudes and understand that even extremely religious people are allowed to look and feel beautiful and attractive. Anonymous

This was very well written, and the truth is all in this article. I work teenagers everyday and it's all about their dress, music and relationships. It all starts with what they put on. I always tell my teens: "Girls need to be a peach out of reach, and a boy needs to be a plum who not giving up none." (Until Marriage) Tony

This is a very appropriate and timely article. I home educated my 4 children (among them 2 daughters)for 21 years and have recently stepped into the public school arena to make a difference there. I have been dismayed to see our little girls dressing like Britney Spears and our big girls dressing like Madonna...in school as everyday attire! The Bible's term for dressing so as to attract and entice "defrauding." How can a young man keep his way pure (and prepare himself for marriage and family) with all this visual stimulation!? Anyone can look and feel beautiful and attractive, without showing off what the Good Lord has given them. And I bet they'll be even more respected for their inner beauty than their outter beauty. Remeber it's not about having a body by Mattel. It's more like having a mind by by Fisher. T.L.B.

Im a mother of a 14 yearold and im happy with w.e my daughter is happy, but my daughter dresses really preppy and classy for her age! even though sometimes i dont fully aqree but their teenaqers and if they dont show of wat they qot wen their younq then wen ? wen their mothers , fat, old ? i think everybody should dress as they please aslonq as its not too too muchh!! rosa

Teenage girls in todays society dress like that because they are not the Lord's. If a person is the Lord's , then they do the will of God by nature. No amount of educating decency will make a person a real Christian. These people dress like prostitutes because they are sinners. There is no point talking them about the Lord's standards because they cannot do that. The Lord God makes people for Himself, and there is nothing you can do about that. All the rest of the world including prostitues, gays etc will be cast alive into the lake of fire because they are sinners. Prostitution, gays, murdering etc are just outworking of the sin. As a teenage girl in the society, I have to agree that modest dress is very important. It sets the girl a standard, and if it is a standard to remain pure, even in dress, it's obviously a standard to keep the body's purity for marriage, which is not the norm nowadays. However, I disagree with the above post. God made everyone, EVERYONE for himself, and he loves each and every one of his creations.. A sinner is closer in relation to a rebellious child than a demon, and a christian parent still loves their children, even when their children sadden them. As does God. Megan

I am not sure I agree with most of the above and I would advise young girls to err on the side of modesty - not for God (sorry I am not religious) but for social and self esteem reasons. But lets be realistic here - can we not show a little booty and still be happy and balanced? Cat

Hmm, I don't know. I think the booty thing is not appropriate. I see kids that look like they're in their 30's. What are they going to look like when they are older?

I totally agree with you on this issue of teenage girls dressing modestly. Personally, I've got no respect for girls who dress sensually.I see myself as someone who's got a priceless gift and so guards it with love.When the body's exposed, they simply do that to attract boys. SUCCESS
