You got all a nice point of view about the topic but for my own point of view marriage is tougher you can be the best parent in the world if you and your partner love and understand each other and everything will just perfectly follow. Make sure your marriage will turn out to be fine choose the best partner you can ever had.

I like your outlook too Robert. A warm welcome to you to Family Lobby. :) Picking the best partner is a whole topic in itself! How do you know?

How DO you know?  Great question!  I think over time, ups and downs, the true self comes out...only in a time of change can we see each others true colors.

And welcome!  =)

Now that is a very good point. Some are very good at portraying themselves to be something they're not. It's only as time passes they can't keep up the pretense. I'm all for being real, warts and all, from the start. I'd never have been good at putting on a different face. I'm too mouthy.

Lol!  I used to do it, when I was much younger, but not now.  I just don't have time to show someone more than one side of me, lol!

Time does tell all though!

Ha! So if you had loads of free time on your hands you'd be two-faced, is that what you're saying?

No, lol...just when I was younger I was more of a people pleaser.  As I have grown and matured I am only the real me.  No time to sugarcoat anything.....

I was just kidding. :) I don't know if we just get less tolerant as we get older or if we are finally becoming who we really are and are unafraid to show it.

I can relate. I say what I think and mean what I say. It's a curse. Maybe we just see the clock ticking. I know I look back on the last decade and wonder where it went.

I don't have the time nor the inclination to be around people that aren't authentic anymore, you know what I mean? I'd rather be around an occasionally grumpy person that's honest than a fake one who's always nice where you never know what they're thinking or if they're saying what they really think.
