and I'm out of practice! [:(] I looked after the granddaughter of my husband's workmate yesterday and boy, do I feel OLD. I completely forgot what it's like to have to watch their every move. Who knew the gravel on my drive would look tasty to her? LOL. I only just got that out her hand before she ate it. She's almost two and cute as a button.

What a great day I had though. I watched Betty Boop and Spongebob cartoons, played peek a boo, changed her diaper three times and never got a #2 (lucky!), enjoyed scrambled eggs and toast for a lunch that I never would have eaten, pigged out on pancakes later, went out in the garden and stood by watching her pulling the heads off my petunias for a clover-petunia posy she offered me (awww!!) and generally had a good time. Oh, and we compared scratches - mine from the dog, hers I don't know but she kept pointing at mine saying "Ouch" sympathetically then showing me hers.

Plus, she napped twice which her grandma said she never does for her and I must have tired her out LOL.

Then on Monday, I get to do it all again! [:D]

Wow how cute! :D Yes just about anything tangible can look tasty to a toddler! lol. I have a two, almost three year old and I can't take my eyes off her for a second. But she's such a joy though, always smiling and finds everything fascinating. But lucky for you, you get to send her home and let someone else deal with the #2's. [:o]

Aww, how lovely Sandy. :)

Ha, yes, that's the best part, not getting the tantrums! I can see the appeal of being a grandparent now. :) She really was a joy to have too and was just as good on Monday as well. By then I'd got smarter and removed most things that were within reach. She also napped twice again! I was telling my own mom about it and she said I've to stop giving her Jack Daniels LOL. [:o]

My own son is 20 and you forget how fascinating they find everything at that age as you say. I know now what people mean when they say being around young kiddies keeps you young. She opened up my old jaded eyes for sure. :)

My little grandson by default opens my eyes nearly every day.  He is exhausting but he definitely is keeping me young, and very very busy!

I'm loving having her, I really am. I thought she was coming today but the arrangements changed and I was quite disappointed. It's easy when you don't have to do it 24/7 of course. :)

I bet!  =)

I don't know how anyone has their first in their forties by choice, honestly. I can't imagine having the stamina to go through childbirth AND look after a little one at my age now. They must all be super fit. :)
