absolutely, and any more, it appears that doctors have no problems ordering prescriptions that you don't need. I don't know if it is pressure from those people who don't feel they have gotten their money's worth unless that have a scrip in hand, or if it's something else. I told my current doctor that I am not a hypochondriac (sp?), I do not bring my children in for every sniffle or ache. I only bring in my children (and myself) when I have exhausted my own resources or have a question. If he feels that my child or I need to go home and wait out whatever illness we have, then I am okay with that. I do not want an antibiotic that will not help. its funny, but I took my middle child in a couple of years ago for a rash that my doctor thought caused by strep (tho her throat cultures were negative). he asked me if she was allergic to any antibiotics and I said I didn't know because she had never been on one ... she was SEVEN. he could not believe that she had never had an antibiotic. I told him she had early childhood asthma and the common cold, but otherwise was a very healthy child (formula fed too, BTW - lol)
