fiery -> How do you keep the dust down? (9/13/2009 12:46:14 PM)

It seems that no matter how much I clean and hoover, it's always dusty around here. Any tips on how to keep it to a minimum?

my mom used to spray endust on the wood before going to bed, then by morning all the dust was trapped and she would clean it and polish the furniture. I cant remember seeing that product in years, but I dont use aerosol cans so it could be that I am just not in the right place - lol.

I have Orange Clean it although it is oily for a furntiture polish it definitely gets the dust and keeps it from getting into the air.

Hmm, I need to try that Orange Clean then and see if endust still exists then. It's really annoying that within a day or two it's back.

The Orange Clean is really oily so the dust can't stick, the downside is that it is oily.  If your wood is old and dry (like mine) you won't believe how it soaks it up!  It looks great for about a week or so, lol.

I use an almond oil on our old wood and it's the same way - the wood soaks it up faster than I can put it on, but then it looks great!  I spray it on a cloth to polish the newer wood because it just gets slippery - lol

I bet the almond oil scent would be lovely too! Is that a special kind for polishing or just the normal stuff diane?

normal stuff - I use the target 'green' brand, method.  I just like the smell - lol

I would too! And if I end up eating cake because of it, it's your fault. [:(]

lol!  almond oil?  I've never heard of that.  Can I buy it at a regular grocery store?  We're not as advanced here in the Northeast so I wonder, lol!

lol - I'm sure you can.  I think pledge even makes an almond oil ;)

Funny!  Now here is a sign of age....I went to the store not once but twice yesterday and forgot to look.  Oiy! [:-]

I'm as bad, it slipped my mind too. I was thinking today that it's been forever since the vacuum cleaner filter was changed as well so that doesn't help. I grudge buying them...it's about $20.

I typically leave the house, with a list IN HAND, get to the store and forget to look at the list, and of course, but a bunch of things I didn't need, but looked good at the time.

Tut, tut. I at least put mine in my purse and then don't look at it. See, I'm far more organized. [:D]
