Did you read about the size of the baby born in Indonesia. Wow! I bet Mom's pleased it was a C-section. [:(]

I watched a clip and the doctor said the mother is a diabetic so the baby's size is due to him receiving too much glucose during the pregnancy. 

If it were me.....I think I'd be sad in a way to have a newborn that size.  It's like not having a newborn at all.

Glad both mom and baby are okay and doing well.  The doc said even the c-section was difficult due to the baby's size.

If it's a diabetes issue, the baby will most likely lose a lot of that weight in the first few months.  my sister in law had gestational diabetes and my niece was born at 13 pounds - she was down to 7 within weeks.

My mom had the opposite problem. My oldest sister was only 2 and a half pounds when she was born. She was full term too. They had to go out and buy doll's clothes for her. There was no such thing as preemie size clothing back then.

NINETEEN pounds?!?  OMG, I would not be a happy camper for sure!

You would have been when they said it would be a C-section LOL. Though I had one and they are no picnic to get over, let me tell you. My mum's had both and she said she'd opt for a natural birth every time because C-section recovery is so much longer.

Ugh, I've never had either but none of it sounds easy to recover from.

The way I looked at it is everyone's different, Christine. I was reading about Jennifer Hudson's new baby boy. She had a C-section and was wanting to be allowed out of bed that same night.

She was very lucky if that's how she felt after it! I couldn't even laugh or turn over without hurting myself. She must have had some great painkillers LOL.
