I am trying to generate more traffic to my writing and freelance business.  Unfortunately I am so naive to blogging!  I set up a new account and would appreciate any and all subscribers!

Let me know what you think so far.....please!

I like the theme! Why did you do it on Blogger though? I always advise people to self-host blogs on their own sites because with hosted blogs, the company can pull the plug on your blog any time they want and all your work is gone.

If you decide to stick with it, start submitting it to blog directories and get your link out there.

Oh I didn't know.  I used them because a friend recommended them.  As it turns out though it seems like a waste of time.  I only have one follower.  Its too much work for nothing....

Christine, it takes several months and even years to build a following. You have to put real effort into joining social networks and forums where people with similar interests are. You also need to submit articles to directories. You have to visit other people's blogs or sites that have articles on related subjects and comment on them. When you make a good comment, they'll come to your own site because of it and it will help you build backlinks. You only get out of it all what you put into it.

In all honesty I feel you'd be better sticking with building up fourleafclover more because it's already established and adding more content there. Look at it from a visitor's point of view. You need to be giving them a reason to stop by that's not just selling them something. Think of the writing sites you go to and why you go there to get some ideas.

Thanks Kay!  I definitely don't understand it all.  The reason I set up the blog is because the name four leaf doesn't help me...or so people have said, I don't really get it.  I wanted a blog that said something about me, not that my blog name does either, lol.

I think you are right though, maybe I'll make four leaf more of a blog.....

Why don't you buy a domain name that's your full name instead? Most that are looking to work professionally online will do that. And if by any chance it's taken just add writer to the end of it and try that.

Did you get your domain name yet? You'll only pay about $10-12 a year for it.
