Aww shame. You have my sympathy. It's nasty indeed. Get well soon! :)

I'm back from the grave!  LOL.  My Dr said it will be a 5 day flu and boy did she nail that.  I feel totally better, emotionally and physically!  [:D]

Gimme some of whatever she gave you. I could do with a dose of some magic elixir today. [:D]

ChristineB -> RE: Flu (11/9/2009 9:53:30 AM)

Not sure its magic, but it is working....

Well we're about to have another bout of it and I've barely shifted the last one! Hubby's sniffling and coughing again. He works with a girl that picks up every bug going and then they all get it one after another and take it home to their families.

I think they are great resources ... now if we could just get the schools to cooperate. I get the 3rd degree when I keep my children home but refuse to take them to the docor. I know when my kids need rest and when they need a doctor, but the school wants a child's butt in their seat in order to get paid. funny thing is, you send them to school sick to avoid the interrogation and you STILL have to hear it ... it's a no win as a parent these days

Yes, that's exactly how it feels.  I've had an awful sinus infection for like 2 weeks, it's amazing how hardy these bugs are.

Parents know their own kids better than anyone. We're the best judge of when they're sick enough to stay off but don't need a doctor, not the schools! They should be happy the kids don't go and make a lot more sick. [>:]

that's what I was thinking, Kay. The school secretary says the CDC is asking the schools to ask questions when we call the children in sick ... how high was their temp? are they vomitting? how long? how much? hello??? do I have to make a co payment for this???

oh well, what do I know, right? today I sent my little one to school with a cough. I know that she also has PND and that is why she is coughing, and I also knew if I called her out of school they would question me because winter break begins monday ... but I fully expect a phone call in the next couple of hours "informing" me of my child's cough. Did they? (cough, cough, sniffle, sniffle)
