I do love the ocean that's why we got the tank...it keeps me motivated to get there often. And the bubbling sound is amazing! Super relaxing.

Squirrels aren't supposed to be pets anyway, piglover. They can also carry rabies. It's rare but it does happen. quote:
Do squirrels make good pets? No... Although squirrels can, and do live in captivity. It is an unnatural environment for them. They need to run and climb. They make poor house pets since their sharp claws, and teeth can do a great deal of damage. They can even harm a human unintentionally. It would be cruel to keep a wild animal caged where it cannot mate or interact with other animals. On the other hand, squirrels kept in a cage for study or treatment will often live longer then their wild counterpart, since there are no worries about food, water, or weather. Most Cities, Counties and States have rules about keeping wild animals as pets. A permit is often required. It would be best to inquire before you try to adopt a disabled squirrel. http://www.squirrels.org/faq.html#Q35

You might think it's good but it's not for the animal. It's cruel to keep them in a house when they need to run free. How would you like it if you were say locked in a bathroom all day every day and weren't allowed to go anywhere else in the house or go outside? That's what life indoors would be like for a squirrel. It's not their natural habitat. I thought you were an animal lover too! Can you not see why it would be kinder to let them be free?

I hear you, but some pets only belong in the wild. YOU may like them, but THEY don't. I think that was the point fiery was making. For some animals, it is cruel to keep them as inside pets.
