Has anyone had any luck with getting a degree online?  I have looked into it but I'm just not convinced yet that the level of information would be the same.  Any thoughts?

From what I've read the standards are the same. Even if the coursework is slightly different, bear in mind that the universities have to be accredited in the first place to even offer the qualification and go through that process whether it's online or on campus. Uni's are moving with the times. Think how cost effective it is for them too not having to supply equipment or classrooms. Your degree will be just as valid at the end of the day. How often do you hear anyone say I have a BA in whatever and then follow up with where they got it from? Only Harvard types do that.

So true...I don't think anyone has ever asked me.  Just what it's in and that's the end of the conversation.

I rest my case. Nobody really cares where you learn it. What matters ultimately is whether you can apply what you've learned. Heck, you can take courses at MIT absolutely free that cover much of same undergraduate and graduate work you'd pay thousands. If you want the knowledge and aren't fussed about having the piece of paper, it's there for the taking. You don't even need to register to access the materials.

Glad to help. I have lots of free online study sites in my bookmarks. If you don't find anything that catches your eye there, let me know and I'll give you some more you could try.

You don't need money for them LOL. I said FREE online study. The courses cost nothing but your own time and energy.

Is that dumb?

No it's not dumb but it's a lot more expensive.

I used opencourseware like for a year for my Differential Equations lectures. My professor sucks so it helped me a lot.

I wouldn't mind supplementing with an online class, but the whole degree?  Still not sure, not that it matters I don't have the money anyway.

I think it is not that good of an idea because someone else can do the work for you and you can get the credits for it. It is still best to go to the common schools.

I hadn't thought of that!  I wonder how they verify that the student is the person turning in the work????  Great point!

There are many advantages of taking online degree classes. Regardless of the location we can attend the classes. We can set our own convenient timings. Online education is also much lower cost than the traditional school. Also, there is no need to buy the textbooks. We can download the materials online. Online education provides more convenience and flexibility.
