We are always curious to see how our fortunate members found this diamond in the rough. Did you hear it from a friend? Did it come up in Google? What were you searching? Let us know! [8D]

I found it in an AOL search engine - probably google ;)  I don't remember how long ago, but it was during a time that I was looking to get out of using the AOL Hometown pages.

I found the site when browsing for an alternative to myfamily, where I now have 4 sites.
A posting from a member suggesting putting in a search at your phone company etc? Who knew what the results would be? [8D]
 
And up popped an option for familylobby, and I came, I saw, I liked.[:D]
I first started a free site, which was up to my limit in no time, and now have a paid site with familylobby.

Welcome to the site! Did you see a lot of differences between this site and myfamily. It seems like it would all be about the same.

There is a difference, but not a great difference.
Here you have options to select your own sections, and familylobby has some bells and whistles that myfamily doesn't, and vise versa.
At the time of my search, I was unsure of myfamily and its new upcoming changes. The migration to the "new" myfamily site is still up in the air. So I went looking for something to replace them if things didn't work there to suit me.
I have 4 sites with them, geneology(4yrs), Inspirational(1 yr), and a banner site(1yr), plus a trial site(new myfamily).
It has been a mess there but getting better now. So now I have a site here, which I use for my poetry, short stories, my photo creations', which I love. When the change over occures, and I don't like what I see, then this will be my new home.

I found you through yahoo search. I was just typed in family websites. I found maybe 3 that I looked at and this one suited me best for what I wanted to do.

i found whie veiwing a new site for a family i just recently met.. she has started a website for us.. this is part of it to get to know each other.. ihope to possibly meet some new friends.

I found it searching on yahoo for free family websites.  we had a website elsewhere (not anymore!), but it doesn't hold a candle to all the features here.  this is great, because i have a HUGE family in AZ, and i live in SD.  so they can keep current with all the pics, videos and news of our young family!

I found Family Lobby when I asked the members of a mommy board I am on what they thought was a good place to start a family website.  [:)]

I either found it through Google or Yahoo! search.

I too found this site while browsing a MyFamily forum looking for answers on their migration problems from 1.0 to 2.0.  I have created a family site and working on getting is spruced up for evaluation from family members.  Just using "free" version at the moment.  But so far I like what I see...
