i think that phones should be aloud in school because then u can use them during recess and study hall and they can also be put on silence or viberate.

guys u r all right in some way but i agree wit all u but there r some cases in witch some kids r abuseing the fact that teachers can see them text. that brings me to my point kids abuse the privlage by texting during class or trying to call people to get them in trouble. but yes i agree they should be allowed to have phones in school

We all got by without cell phones, but now that they exist; they offer so many benefits that outweigh the costs (distraction in class, etc)

I don't see though why schools can't ban their use in class time. Allow them to have them before and after school and at breaks. During lessons they shouldn't be accessible. If there was an emergency a teacher could use their own.

i also think that students should have cell phones at school beacause if ur mom or some one else cant pick u up and ur house it tooo far away to walk to then we should be able to use cell phones but other wise we can put our phones on vibrate and a rule of no texting while in class thats why i think we should have cell phones

I'm doing a report on this subject. And i am surprised at th ammount of people who are For it. I also agree. Cell phones should be allowed in school. but only during study hour, between classes, and at recess. i am in school as we speak, and it's crazy how many kids have their cell phone on them, but NONE of them are texting. We kids should be trusted more. If certain teachers don't mind the phones in class, let them choose. But all phones should be on silent at all times. And all kids should have a cell phone. Simply for their satfy, and their enjoyment. If parents say their kid doesn't need one, becasue they didn't have one when they were a kid, and they survived, That's quite mean. Wouldn't you want your kids to have a happy childhood? even if you didn't? I want my kids to have the best life that i can give them. Why don't they?

cell phones in study halls hallways and free periods should be fine because there is no actual learning going on in the hallways or study halls and free periods

I disagree on one purpose. Children will not listen to teachers to learn. I would love to have cell phones in school, but children would not listen to teachers when they are teaching
