I think that it is bad for kids to have cell phones at school ecspecially grade school kids. Because they'll probobly lose it or make it a distraction. What if it goes off in class. The teacher might take it away for a long period of time. Then if it's an emergency you don't have it. It could also be used as something that you could hurt someone else with. There is also the possibilitie that someone could steel it. That's why Ihtink it is a bad idea so all you people who think it's good I totally disagree

I am doing a perrsausive essay to and you dont have the same argument as I do , most of you anyway. I don't think if it is good for kids in grade schol to have cell phones. They're just so much of a disturbance and a distraction. If you dis agree that's fine too.

....sadly, even after I posted about grammar, no one can write one sentence without at least two typos. C'mon guys and gals...make your point with some class.

im doing a persuasive essay on this;AND YOU PEOPLES DONT KNOW NOTHING ABOUT SPELLING;i will spell that for you S.P.E.L.L.I.N.G

UR FACEE:::

im? You peoples dont know nothing? Dearie me. What kind of English is that? People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. I suggest you find out what that means. While you're at it, look up double negatives. I predict a low score on that essay if that's your standard of writing. And by the way, be rude like that again and you'll be banned.

And what happens if your child accidentally breaks someone else expensive smart phone during play time, as recently happened to my son. Phones should be banned from being taken at at any time during school hours. Should the parents be potentially liable for all the children's phones?

Robin

Very good point, Robin. And I would think if the schools allow them to be used on site, then they should be covering the cost of any damages to property via their insurance.

All these kids seem to think the world's counting on their intervention to save it LOL. Obviously they couldn't count on say a teacher having one or there being phones all over the school in every office and dept. ;) What I'd like to see is a way of blocking their phones' reception in school hours to where they can only make emergency calls from them since they all say that's why they want them.

Yeah sure. LOL

That is an excellent point Robin. If kids must have phones at school let's get them a very cheap one and make it impossible to text or play games.

Yes students should be able to have cell phones at school. like one this one site it that we should be able to have our phones out during lunch and free period and like during test give our phones to the teacher or set them on top of of desk face up so like there is no cheating.

I think kids today we need to have our cell phones in school and we don't. I agree because if there is an emergency in your home they will need to call you. I don't agree because is a huge destraction for many kids

i go to armada High School and we arnt aloowed to use them but some teachers allow us to use them to help with class like my english 11 class we use them to do vocab and we send them to a website and it showes up on the projector i think that phones help with the learning part. we are a society anymore that is surrounded my technology and we use it almost everyday so teaching styles will change over time.

i also think that children should have there cell phones in school because after school hours or during school hours if something were to happen to your children then your children could call or text you and tell you where they think they are or where they are.. thst is why i think students should have cell phones with them at all times just in case they get lost.. Cause i am a student at woodmont middle school and i am in 7th grade and my sister is in 8th grade and we were out in the woods and we didnt bring our cell phones and we had been taking pictures in the woods and we went to the creek and when we were going back home we got lost and we had to climb over a fence that had spikes i forgot what it was called but i got cut and it still hurts really bad right now so kids take from me.. bring your phone every where you go okay and parents who cares just let them carry a phone in there back pocket for saftey.. okay.. thanks for listening.. bye bye....

Students really need cellphones for many cause.But still, ''cellphones are not allowed''---because of scandal. It's unfair to major number of students.

I think that it should be allowed. If something happens at school and I need to contact my parents shouldn't I be allowed? Expecially in this generation, with school shootings and stuff like that. If something happens and my phone is off and in my locker or at home for that matter, what good is it going to do? Now that phones have the ICE (in case of emergency) place for numbers, we should, so instead of having to look on school records for my parents numbers they can get it out of my phone.
