holy cow, Kay! I hope it all clears up soon. does poison ivy have spores that can cause a rash when airborne? I have a great OTC medication for allergy eyes and pink eye - it's homeopathic, called similasan. I get it at drug/pharmacy type stores like wallgreens or CVS. we keep both the allergy and pink eye drops in the house all the time. I hope you are feeling better soon!!

Hmm, good question. I know you're not supposed to burn it because people can then inhale it when it gets released by the flames or it can come into contact with their skin when the wind blows it onto them. I have my suspicions it could have been that that happened. My neighbor told me she got it and they'd been burning garden rubbish one day when I was out in the yard planting flowers. Either that or the dog got it on his paws and touched my face. He has a habit of doing that if you're scratching his back and you stop. I'll look for that stuff, thanks! It's a lot better this morning. I managed to get half an eye open LOL.

ugh, I know how crazy it can be - I remember my dad having to get a warm wash cloth to rest on my eyes in the morning because my eyes had crsuted shut - yuck! and my girls have all had the experience with the allergies as well. I hope you have some relief soon, Kay!

Ugh, I know! Thanks, diane. It's all cleared up now thank goodness. I've had my son scouring the yard looking for it because I don't want the dogs to get in amongst it again if there's any. So far he only found a teeny plant but that could be enough. My other neighbor was showing me his back shed. It's covered in poison oak! At least now I know what that looks like so I can avoid it.

That sounds absolutely miserable Fiery! Glad you're feeling better now. I've got some of that Similasan in my medicine cabinet as well and it works great.

I have come to think it's one of the best things on the planet - lol!! my little ones have allergies and get crusty eyes. the meds the pediatrician gives me always burn their eyes the first couple of days. since I have found the similasan, we haven't had to go to the doctor for it at all! it clears up their eyes in half the time the prescription did AND no burning at all.

I definitely need to find that then now it's also got a double vote of confidence!! I take ages to heal with anything now, whether it's a scratch or a bite or whatever. I don't know if that's just part of getting older too but I take forever to clear up.
