Will she be missed? I bet within six months we see her operating as a consultant, with a book and a TV chat show, all of which will fail miserably because by the time they're in place she'll be old news. Either that or she has some twisted logic that people will clamor to get her back. Since her own state hates her guts, I doubt we'll see that happening. quote:
Supporters and critics alike say the former Republican vice presidential candidate's resignation, announced Friday afternoon and effective July 26, is an inexplicable move for a high profile Republican widely seen as a contender for a White House run in 2012. A half-term governor campaigning for president? http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/31737517/ns/politics-more_politics/

I'm confused though...how can she resign to run for President? Doesn't that send the message that she can't even run ONE state?

I don't know how that works, Christine, sorry. And I agree with you. After I read about how she went after her ex-brother in law trying to get him fired, I had zero respect for her. You don't use your official standing to carry out personal vendettas. It's probably best for the state she's gone. I don't think she should even be running a lemonade stand. Though she's bitter enough to fit in that job, ha! You can all call me the oracle after you read this article. quote:
Levi Johnston, 19, whose wedding to Bristol Palin was called off earlier this year, said Thursday he lived with the Palin family from early December to the second week in January. He claimed he heard the governor several times say how nice it would be to take advantage of the lucrative deals that were being offered, including a reality show and a book. "She had talked about how nice it would be to take some of this money people had been offering us and you know just run with it, say 'forget everything else,'" he said. Okay, okay I'll wait for the official news on that since it's gossip. Her camp denies it of course. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090710/ap_on_re_us/us_palin_resignation

I agree, she is sickening. What's funny though is so many on TV say this is the best career move! They confuse me.

I actually just started working for a client in Alaska. I must ask him what he thinks of it all and get the word on the street. :) I think she's going to be sorely disappointed to find out that the public isn't as fascinated with her as she is. There won't be a bargain bin at the bookstore big enough to hold all the unsold copies.

Can't resist sharing these cracks from Conan O'Brien and David Letterman. David: "Now how about this, ladies and gentlemen? The governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin, has announced she is stepping down. She will no longer be the governor of Alaska. First thing, she woke up and went out on her porch and waved goodbye to Russia." "I was talking to a lady here in the audience, she was from Alaska and we were wondering about this. How does a thing like this work? She steps down and she's no longer the governor of Alaska. And we figured it out: Miss Congeniality steps up and is now the governor of Alaska." Conan: "This is weird, in her resignation speech, Sarah Palin said she polled her children on whether she should resign and the vote was unanimous. Yeah, even her children thought she was in over her head." "President Obama right now is in Russia. Obama went there because from Russia you can actually see Sarah Palin cleaning out her office in Alaska."
