I so want to see this movie! I'll be patient and wait for the DVD to come out but it sounds great. Will you be interested in seeing this too?

I saw on CNN that some people are depressed and even feel suicidal after it because the world it depicts is so wonderful compared to their existence here.

Oh noooo, that's the last thing we need.  What happened to feel good movies?  Why are we spending literally billions of dollars on desensitization?

Movies go through trends the same as books do. The feel good movies will come back around again. In fact, I think they are starting to. Just now isn't their time.

It's just funny how Avatar aimed to bring lessons about greed and how it destroys the environment and realize something good about it but it came out to be a slap of insult for some people's hope.

I don't know, sacredflower. I've not seen it yet but to me anyone who viewed it as a slap has their perspective already askew. There's plenty to love about life when you look around you. It's just harder sometimes for some people than others, and I speak from experience of depression here. I know my own perspective wasn't ideal at that time.

My son got the Avatar DVD. I enjoyed it! It didn't feel as long as it is. The DVD wasn't released in 3D and they have no plans to do so. I can tell it would have been awesome in the cinema to see it in 3D. Still worth getting!

What's it about?

I was going to watch it last night but I had missed the first part so I decided to wait until I could see the whole thing.
