The kneejerk reaction would be yes but is that true? An unhappy parent isn't a good one. I think there's a need for compromise there and it doesn't have to be "either them or me."

I am always taken back to something I was told (ironically, by a man I detest), if you give away all your apples, you will eventually have nothing left.  you need to learn to give while taking in order to replenish your supply.

I am one that puts my children and my husband first and I don't take time for myself until I am forced to. I'm not saying it's the right way to do it, but it's the way that works for me - lol.

I do the very same thing, but unfortunately I don't think it is working very well for me.  I need to replenish my apple supply soon or I'll be going on empty!

I really like that apple analogy. It's very wise and yet simple. And I'm glad to see some me time is getting squeezed in there, Christine! Enjoy the waves. :)

will do.  Definitely!  What's funny, is all this thinking about the waves, and ocean caused me to write something new.  It's darker than what I normally write to inspire people, but it came out great, I think!
