A surrogate mother carries a child to term typically for a woman that cannot. A surrogate may be inseminated with sperm from the father. The woman’s eggs may be removed, fertilized and then re-implanted in the surrogate. Why would a woman choose to be a surrogate mother?

My wife and I really planed on having children the old fashion way but a clear recovery. With breast cancer stopped the process . We have a 4 bed house with a pool

I know a woman with 3 children - all born via surrogate. the eggs and sperm were hers and her husband's, implanted into her selfless, amazing friends, who agreed to carry them for her. I can't think of anything more amazing than those friendships.
