ORIGINAL: ChristineB I instantly thought it was funny too, but in hindsight it's sad to me. I fear that by the time she gets old enough to know the difference that magazines will be a thing of the past. I think technology is wonderful but I don't think it can replace a good book, looking someone in the eyes or a firm handshake. I guess we need to move with the times, much as I'm kicking and screaming about it too. We need to either embrace it or get left in its wake, as does publishers. They must have got scared last week when Amazon.com announced they are signing up authors themselves to their own publishing program, effectively cutting out the publishers. Article

Yikes, just when I get an agent!! LOL I don't mind moving forward but it seems we are moving at such a paid pace, that so much is being forgotten, over ridden or just plain considered "old" and out of date. When we stop reading actual books, signing our names in cursive, and need live assistants on our cell phones (yes my new iPhone has that) I get a little nervous about what it is exactly we are scarificing for the greater good?
