That we haven't got a "Today I noticed..." thread!  Start with that phrase and talk about anything that caught your attention today, big or small.

Today I noticed that I have ivy growing back yet again that I thought I had vanquished. It's a pain too because it's close to the AC unit and keeps trying to worm its way inside that.

Heck, me too! Today I noticed this very morning that I may no longer qualify for those hair dyes that say "do not use if you have over 10% gray". My gray hair's coming in faster! I just bought one too. Hope it works LOL.

Today I noticed how beautiful the sky is out there and appreciated working from home. It's clear, not a cloud, and sunny with just a hint of a breeze. I can see the forest and the hills beyond when I lift my head and look out the window. Not many cubicle workers are that lucky. :)

Today I noticed how badly my windows need washed and that led me to another realization! How little I feel inclined to do it. LOL  Give me a break, I'm still sick!

Today I noticed that a little appreciation truly does go a long way. The other day my husband left me a note when he'd left for work saying he loved me. He'd let me sleep in because I was sick so I didn't get to see him off as usual. I've carried the glow of that note around in my heart for three days now.  Tell someone you love and appreciate them today. We can never be too busy to do that.

Today I noticed that the stores seem much quieter this festive season. I think the economy has bitten deeper and still is more than most realize. This time last year they were already busy right after Thanksgiving and it didn't relent until after Christmas.

Today I noticed that my son is taking a stretch again. At 20 I thought he was past that but apparently nobody told his body that.  He's definitely got taller. I'm going to have to take a tape measure to him before I buy any clothes for his Christmas.

Hi Kash, welcome to Family Lobby. I guess it's that time of year when everyone's out and about more, burning that fuel up faster. :) Either that or there's a price hike coming.

...that I am about half a pound away from a double chin! I don't think I can wait until after Christmas to start watching what I eat more. I think we've had three lemon meringue pies in as many weeks. And still I look to my genetics frantically for a reason why I'm getting so roly poly LOL. Oh what a tangled web we weave.

I am right there with you Kay. Tuesday I stepped on the scale to find I had officially gained back half of the 40 pounds I lost 8 years ago. I can blame some of it on my thyroid meds, but they only HELPED the pound of fudge and other goodies I have been eating non stop since November.

This morning I am trying to convince myself that my cottage cheese and peaches is ben and jerry's ice cream.

LOL, now I want ben and jerry's! Well I just weighed myself and am at 177 and I'm only 5' 4"! At least you have your meds to take some of the blame. Mine is sheer gluttony.

my meds are just an excuse to not do anything about the weight gain, really - lol. I know they are contributing, but I just haven't cared enough about it to get serious about doing something. now that my energy is starting to come back, I am more inclined to get off my butt and work on this ... we'll see how long that lasts - lol. now I have the cold to battle as well!!
