When mine was very young I couldn't get him past any Thomas The Tank Engine books. What about yours? :)

Today I had a flashback to one of my own. I loved The Snow Queen by Hans Christian Anderson and can remember being miffed that the boy in the story had my name.

You can read it online at Project Gutenberg in a collection of his.

I LOVE the giving tree!! we read it here all the time. I love all of shel silversteins work tho (he has been a favorite of mine since my own childhood) and we have some of the poems memorized.
We have a collection of Hans christian Anderson stories as well that get read on lazy days.
as far as other favorites, my youngest likes the Biscuit early reader books. they are easy for her to read on her own and most words can be sounded out.
all of my girls liked the book I love you forever.

My only real question with The Giving Tree is every time we to the end, AJ asks, "where are the old mans pants?"  Pretty funny actually....

My child favorite books are by, Kes Grey or the Julia Donaldson.
Also The Spider and the Fly, any of the Skippy Jon Jones books.

Hi Rupertt, nice to meet you and welcome to Family Lobby. I'm not familiar with those authors. Can you say some more about their books and what age groups they'd suit please?
