It can get a little boring doing the same stuff all the time, so why not share some ideas and give others inspiration?

sadly, I am NOT a game person -lol.  the only game I play with the kids is the quiet game.  It is played in the car when the kids have nothing nice to say or are bickering and I am about to drive us all off the road.  I think you can guess the rules of the game

LOL I would say what I think the rules are but I'm too scared to open my mouth!

ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!   You girls are a riot!

I think Diane would probably toss me out of her car going about 70 mph!  I never know when to shut up.

I LOVE to play cards but I can't get anyone else to play with me in this house.  We play a lot of board games when we go camping like Scrabble, Monopoly, Trouble, Dominoes, Checkers.  We also play dice games.

We used to play cards when my son was younger but kinda lost interest in it. I'd have loved a pack though when we had the ice storm LOL. Anything to pass the time would have been great. We're all so used to the computers, 11 days without them was tough even from the fun side, never mind work.

nah, I wouldn't toss anyone out.  the quiet game doesn't stem from talking - I enjoy the talking.  it's the constant arguing, bickering and one upping that puts me over the edge.
but with 3 girls, who have the gift for gab, one can only wish for a little quiet time

My dad would sympathize LOL. I'm sure he remembers 3 girls in the back bickering and squabbling. Usually it began before we even got in on whose turn it was to sit in the middle. Many a time he'd have one hand on the wheel and the other reaching back to swipe whoever was unfortunate enough to be at close range LOL. Ahh, I must remind him of that.

We love playing games. Two of our favorites are Scrabble and Boggle. It's a riot bc my fiance tries to make up all of these weird words. We keep the laptop on the table so that we can verify the words using the Official Scrabble Dictionary online.

Other favs are:

Blokus
Mankala
Phase 10
Uno
Trivial Pursuit

Ah Latonya, I could have done with that as a kid. Our Scrabble games always ended in a fight over what was and wasn't acceptable and the board would get thrown in the air in a huff, usually my oldest sister LOL. Same with Monopoly.

I don't know those first three on your list but used to love Trivial Pursuit.

Monster trucks are cool! What, has he forsaken Thomas the Tank Engine? Say it ain't so! I used to hate it when my son went from one phase to another. You'd just be almost there with a collection and he'd start on something new.

Lol my family and I are big scrabble-heads.

Me and my kids have also been playing a lot of games/activities outdoors this past summer.  I came across a article from the Ad Council at work (I work for a marketing company) that said kids spend about 50% less time outdoors than they did when I was their age, so I have been looking for activities and games for us to do outdoors.

The Forest Service's website is a pretty neat resource for looking for things to do with the kids, they have a campaign going called "Where the Other You Lives" which is trying to get people outdoors anyway lol.

They have a neat website that I use all the time:)

My daughter is two and I've enjoyed teaching her all my old hand games (Ms. Mary Mack, Mailman mailman, etc.). I think she's starting to get it now. It's fun, I get to be a kid again too.
