By default, the spell checker is disabled. You can enable the spell checker by going to the member area and clicking "My Settings". Uncheck "Disable spell checker".
After it was released, the spell checker did not work in some browsers and made it difficult for some users to type messages. The spell checker is only in English, so checking the spelling as you type is not enabled by default because of the international use of the site. We hope to have more languages in the near future.
