We don't usually do that but this year I may be tempted. If you do, what do you usually get them?

Why not, pets are members of the family. It does depend on what you mean by gift though.
I used to wrap something edible in newspaper for the dog. He used to sulk if the children got something and he didn't. Even if it was only a dog biscuit or two, so long as he didn't feel left out.
